Finding A First Dance Teacher
Finding the right first dance teacher is important. If you have done your preparation in the previous section it should be a lot easier to make the decision.
If you know the song and the dance style that you wish to learn then you can go about finding a wedding dance teacher that specializes in that dance style.
You can then tell them the song that you plan on dancing to and ask them whether they think it would work well with the song you have chosen and whether they could choreograph something.
Of course you want to choose a good teacher as well as one that meets your requirements.
One thing you'll need to consider is the cost of the wedding lessons and how much money you have set aside for this part of the wedding.
The cost of the lessons will depend on a number of factors such as the number of lessons that you'll need, the difficulty level of the routine and the time of day you arrange the lessons (weekends are often more expensive).
Different teachers also have different hourly rates or costs per lessons so it is worth getting a price from the instructors that you are interested in.
Also do they have a studio and where do the lessons take place? Is it convenient for you to get to? Also remember that you may be going to the lessons from other appointments or after work so is it easy to get to from wherever you will be coming?
Can the instructor fit in the lessons at a time that everyone can make? And can they fit in enough lessons before you set off for the big day? In other words will they be available to prepare you not just in the near future but all the way up to wedding time as you will need regular lessons up to then?
The teacher you work with will be creating the first dance based on the song choice which requires time for them to prepare. Their job is a lot easier if you have decided the song and style in advance and helps save them time too.
