What Song Would You Like To Dance To?
Another important consideration for the wedding dance is what music you would like to dance to. Perhaps you have as a couple already decided this or perhaps you are still deciding on it.
The song that you choose will also have a bearing on what type of dance style you will be dancing.
For many couples the song will be the most important thing and they will be happy to dance to whatever dance style suits it. The first dance song is commonly a fairly slow song and so the dance will be a fairly slow one as well.
If there is a song you definitely want to dance to and also a style you have chosen as preferred style, then it is worth asking prospective dance teachers whether they could choreograph a routine to that song and style.
It may still yet be possible and different teachers may give you different opinions. It is worth listening to them and they may be able to give you some suggestions as to what songs might work with the dance style you like, and also which dance styles would work best with your first dance song.
The song you choose should be one that you both are happy with of course, of all considerations this is probably the most important.
In an ideal world you get the song and dance style of your choice. Remember though that as important as the song is it is the song and dance together that make it special.
And so you should be looking for the strongest combination of song choice and dance style. You may be tempted to dance to a song with a dance style that is unsuited for it. However you will quickly find once you begin lessons that the song and dance style won't work well together as soon as you start moving your feet.
So it's best to avoid this scenario in the first place and also listen to the suggestions of the dance teacher you are planning to go for as they will have the know-how.
So know that you know the song you'd like to dance to and the style you'll be moving in, what else do you need to know?
